Just following up with some more info. The error only occurs if I use C-e ? g
before running w3. If I've already run w3, there doesn't seem to be a
problem. Note that if I use the C-e ? websearch before having loaded w3, I then
get the same error if I quit the backtrace and then attempt to run w3.
