I am not 100% sure about this, but last time I checked (a few days ago), emacspeak from
svn no longer worked correctly with emacs 21. It still worked with the
emacs-snapshot package that is in Ubuntu 7.04, but this package is
rather dated as well. Maybe, their is an emacs 22 package in
feisty-backports.
