Hello! First of all, I'm curious to know why the available servers for emacspeak is not compiled and installed with the distributions that maintain the emacspeak packages. Is there a special reason for that? Next, I tried to compile the espeak server on a Fedora 10 system. I went into /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emacspeak/servers/linux-espeak, and did 'make'. I get the following error: libtool --mode=compile g++ -O2 -I/usr/include/espeak -fPIC -DPIC -pedantic -ans i -Wall -c tclespeak.cpp mkdir .libs g++ -O2 -I/usr/include/espeak -fPIC -DPIC -pedantic -ansi -Wall -c tclespeak.cp p -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/tclespeak.o tclespeak.cpp: In function 'void initLanguage(Tcl_Interp*)': tclespeak.cpp:559: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char* ' tclespeak.cpp:596: error: invalid conversion from 'const char*' to 'char*' make: *** [tclespeak.lo] Error 1 [root@xxxxxxxxxxx linux-espeak]# If I try make -f makefile.tcl83, I get: libtool --mode=compile g++ -O2 -I/usr/include/espeak -fPIC -DPIC -pedantic -ans i -Wall -I/usr/include/tcl8.3 -c tclespeak.cpp g++ -O2 -I/usr/include/espeak -fPIC -DPIC -pedantic -ansi -Wall -I/usr/include/ tcl8.3 -c tclespeak.cpp -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/tclespeak.o tclespeak.cpp: In function 'void initLanguage(Tcl_Interp*)': tclespeak.cpp:559: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char* ' tclespeak.cpp:596: error: invalid conversion from 'const char*' to 'char*' make: *** [tclespeak.lo] Error 1 [root@xxxxxxxxxxx linux-espeak]# rpm -qa|grep tcl tclx-8.4.0-12.fc10.i386 tcl-8.5.3-1.fc10.i386 tclx-devel-8.4.0-12.fc10.i386 setools-libs-tcl-3.3.5-1.fc10.i386 tcl-devel-8.5.3-1.fc10.i386 [lrs@xxxxxxxxxxx servers]$ rpm -qa|grep emacs emacs-url-2001.11.13-281.noarch emacs-el-22.3-4.fc10.i386 emacspeak-28.0-3.fc10.noarch emacs-w3-cvs-430.noarch emacs-common-22.3-4.fc10.i386 emacs-auctex-11.85-7.fc9.noarch emacs-bbdb-2.35-1.fc10.noarch emacs-22.3-4.fc10.i386 [lrs@xxxxxxxxxxx servers]$ Could you please help?
