I just wanted to say that I installed the Fonix speech server on a Ubuntu 11.10 Virtualbox installation. I installed the Fonix software first, and then installed emacspeak and emacspeakconfig from http://soft.oralux.net/emacspeak/ <http://soft.oralux.net/emacspeak/>. Everything went smoothly, and I am going to repeat the process sometime soon on my laptop. Thank you all for your help, Stephen On Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 6:30 AM, Bill Cox<waywardgeek@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Thanks, Jason. I got another offer as well, so that would make two testers, which sounds perfect. I worked a bit on the Linux installer over the weekend, and we're doing some last minute testing in Windows, but then we'll release speech-hub for NVDA and Orca, and next week I can start on emacspeak support. It comes with Svox Pico and Mary TTS voices, in addition to espeak, and while I'm biased because of my involvement, I think these are the best FOSS voices available, and I think speech-hub will be the most stable and reliable speech server ever.I may be in a position to help with testing if you write an Emacspeakspeechserver for it.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------To unsubscribe from the emacspeak list or change your address on the emacspeak list send mail to "emacspeak-request@xxxxxxxxxxx" with a subject of "unsubscribe" or "help".----------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the emacspeak list or change your address on the emacspeak list send mail to "emacspeak-request@xxxxxxxxxxx" with a subject of "unsubscribe" or "help".
