Hi Raman, just some feedback on the updated atcleci.so library. Running on Ubuntu 10.10 32 bit using pulseaudio and no asoundrc file I find the sound is clear, responsive and I would suggest more stable as I don't seem to get as many segfaults as I previously did. However, like others have noted, I do seem to be getting some sound 'artifacts'. It would seem that every few lines or words, you will get the first two or so characters of the last word spoken again. So, if the last word was 'again' I would hear again ag, with a slightly reduced emphasis on the second character. I have not yet tested sufficiently to tell if I get the same problem on my 64 bit based system, but wil check that tonight. Note also that apart from occasional segfault crashes, I've had absolutely no issues with outloud udner pulsaudio with the previous version. I did not experience the repeated sound artifact, though I did notice that the outloud script did frequently report underruns, which id does not appear to be doing now. The output now written by outloud when starting is allocating 4096 samples output buffered to waveBuffer with size 4096 ALSA <-> PulseAudio PCM I/O Plugin Its setup is: stream : PLAYBACK access : RW_INTERLEAVED format : S16_LE subformat : STD channels : 1 rate : 11025 exact rate : 11025 (11025/1) msbits : 16 buffer_size : 2097152 period_size : 2048 period_time : 185759 tstamp_mode : NONE period_step : 1 avail_min : 2048 period_event : 0 start_threshold : 1 stop_threshold : 2097152 silence_threshold: 0 silence_size : 0 boundary : 1073741824 % My sound card is sudo lshw -c multimedia *-multimedia description: Audio device product: 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 1b bus info: pci@xxxxxxxxxxx:00:1b.0 version: 02 width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list configuration: driver=HDA Intel latency=0 resources: irq:44 memory:fe9dc000-fe9dffff Tim -- Tim Cross Information Technology University of New England Phone: +61 2 6773 3210 Mobile: 0428 212217 Fax: +61 2 6773 3424 E-Mail: tcross@xxxxxxxxxxx Web: http://www.une.edu.au/itd --- Please avoid sending me Word or PowerPoint attachments.
