Yes I noticed that too. Apparently , the content type changed to
"application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml. Something similar happend before. The
solution used to be the "output=xhtml" parameter which does not seem
to have the desired effect anymore.
For emacs-w3m, the following does the trick for me:
(add-to-list 'w3m-content-type-alist
'("application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml"
"^http://www\.google\.com/gwt/[xm]\\?.*"
nil
"text/html"))
