Well, I did some more digging around including compiling emacspeak in a local branch under my local git repo and I get the same error ad Jude after having done a 'git pull'. It seems that it is complaining that it cannot find xslt-get in acss-xslt.el. And yet, this symbol doesn't exist in my previously installed emacspeak acss-xslt.el either. I see where that symbol is presumabally defined with a defsubst command elsewhere but that definition seeps to be in both of my emacspeak environments so I don't know where to further on this. It got over my head here <frown>. Bottom line: I cannot build the current git version even with just the make files and not using any distro-specific build scripts.
