Hi all,

I have installed Emacspeak by getting the source from git and running make and make install. I then went to my home directory and created a folder called .emacs which has a file in it called init.el. The file contains only one line:

(load-file "/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emacspeak/lisp/emacspeak-setup.el")

I have verified that this file actually exists. However, when I run emacs, I don’t get any speech output.

What am I doing wrong?
