How do you send and view HTML email with Emacs?

Hi all,

I'm curious if anyone here has managed to get Emacs to send and view HTML emails in a way that doesn't require a long, complicated set up.

I've already tried using mu4e and gnus to send email, but they both use message-mode. I've tried adding `org-mime-htmlize' to the `message-send-hook', but that doesn't seem to have an effect – when I read messages on Gmail's web interface, I don't see any HTML.
