I do have VOCR on my mac. I just tried running it and there was no error on the screen. I am using the macport version of emacs. I am running the newest version of emacspeak. I may have to uninstall everything to see if that helps but I don't
want to do that unless its necessary.

Do you have VOCR? Try running OCR on it and seeing what error you get.
