If it's the Python issue, then installing pyobjc module should solve the issue.

I would check whether the Emacspeak server is running first though.

From inside Emacs, try c-e c-s to reinitialize the server. If it works, you should hear a message spoken.

If you are using the system Python, the upgrade might updated the used Python version as well and you could be missing libraries. Try â?? Python servers/macâ?? from the emacspeak root directory. I do have VOCR on my mac. I just tried running it and there was no error on the screen. I am using the macport version of emacs. I am running the newest version of emacspeak. I may have to uninstall everything to see if that helps but I don't want to do that unless its necessary.

Do you have VOCR? Try running OCR on it and seeing what error you get.
