Re: [Emacspeak] Marginalia and friends

Vertico works well (and has explicit support in Emacspeak-emacspeak-vertico.el). Consult works well enough, too. I'm missing a spell-word-like functionality in these but that may just be ignorance-there's probably a way to spell words in the minibuffer, I just don't know about it yet.

Marginalia doesn't work. I'll see if I can speech-enable it. The emacspeak code is slightly intimidating-it's using cl-lib, which I haven't seen used much in the newer packages so am somewhat unfamiliar with that particular style...advices etc seem easy enough, though. I also need to think what the right interface for marginalia would be (spoken on a keypress? automatically spoken after a configurable time interval? both?)

I was just researching the same topic. I started with consult-omni, which is not on MELPA yet, but I find that the package may not be ready for prime time. I mean, it's supposed to work, but the README is not easy to follow, and I am not sure if it's worth my time to figure it out.
How did you find Vertico working for you? Which of these packages do you think are the best?

Hello,

I've been checking out the modern completion frameworks and the like (Vertico, consult, and the entirety of that stack). Vertico seems to work well, consult as well, but marginalia's annotations aren't spoken out automatically. Has anyone explored using all of this? if so, did you get marginalia to work? (I could try my hand at hacking something together if no one else has tried this before.)
