Re: Setting speech rate on start-up

Do not change the settings by editting the emacspeak source
files.

There are hook variables to do this.

Alternatively you can explicitly set dtk-speech-rate by hand
in your .emacs file.

Once again-- the way to customize a package is not to edit
the source.
