Re: Emacspeak for w32 platforms?

I think the level of success you can hope to get with emacspeak on a
windows system depends a lot on what synthesizer you have (hardware or
software based etc).

Given that emacs is available for windows and so is tcl (at least
standard tcl, don't know about extended tcl which is what you would
need), in theory it certainly should be possible to run emacspeak
under windows if forced to use that environment. In practice however,
there is bound to be lots of unexpected inconsistancies/problems.

I've thought about trying this but have been discouraged because you
need other packages to get even emacs functioning at a reasonable
level under windows (e.g. bash style shell utilities etc) and
everytime I go near a windows box I just come away frustrated and
furious.

If anyone has the patience and persistance to get emacspeak working
under windows I think a lot of people, myself included, would be
interested in how it was done and how well it works as its not a
perfect world and we often end up having to work within environments
we'd prefer to ignore.
