On a Red Hat 5.2 CD-ROM, the Emacs related .rpm files are:
/mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 6361317 Oct 14 13:35 emacs-20.3-3.i386.rpm
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 964255 Oct 14 13:35 emacs-X11-20.3-3.i386.rpm
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 4369523 Oct 14 13:35 emacs-el-20.3-3.i386.rpm
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 861014 Oct 14 13:35 emacs-nox-20.3-3.i386.rpm
You will want to install the first three:
emacs-20.3-3.i386.rpm
emacs-X11-20.3-3.i386.rpm
emacs-el-20.3-3.i386.rpm
(Well, you don't need to install the Emacs Lisp source files, the
`.el' files, but if you have the space, you are much better off doing
so, since some comments and explanations are included in the sources.)
If your keyboard has a CapsLock key to the left of the `a' key, you
may also want to install a emacs2 keymap to convert the CapsLock key
to a control key:
/usr/lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2124 Oct 2 03:47 emacs2.map
(Specify
KEYTABLE="emacs2"
in your /etc/sysconfig/keyboard file.)
