would be a good idea if you're prepared to set it up and
maintain it --I'll contribute my own emacs setup which
covers everything I use.
Note that in general the problem is not as bleak as you make
it sound, folding mode is more the exception than the rule--
it's an old package --has not been revised by the original
author in a long long time, the version I use works well
enough ...
But having a single drop of all the emacs extensions would
still be useful.
