Running rpm file

Rpm is a format for packaging up prebuilt programs used by red hat
linux. It can be used under other linux's as well. However, since
differnt linux's put things in differnt places or may have differnt
versions of libraries, I have found in general it is safest to use the
tar.gz files when available.

Mounting the rpm will not to it, you need to install it on your
system.

Have a look at the "RPM-HOWTO" which came with your linux
distribution. If you installed the HOWTOs they will be under
/usr/doc.

Hope this helps,

Greg
