multiple emacspeak sessions and viovoice on laptops

remember fixing something silly with this a couple of weeks ago.  

problem is i forget what it was.

my situation is slightly different in that i am using a sblive which
does multiple opens of /dev/dsp at once.  the remote tcp emacspeak
wouldn't work with viavoice.  when you used telnet back to the speech
server port on the desktop from the remote machine to test the
connection some variable (i'm sorry i can't remember which one) wasn't
set and that was why things were not working.  I suggest a telnet from
the remote machine back to the speech server port on the desktop to
investigate what's happening.

Not sure if that's your problem, but it may be worth a try.
