Is this still the full story? Is the speech-enabled interface to
ViaVoice ASR for dictation not available under Debian Linux?

Please note that `alien' does not include the Red Hat
post-installation scripts in the resulting Debian package (I
understand this is a feature, not a bug).

Now it is necessary to do by hand some configuration equivalent to the
original Red Hat post-installation scripts. If you already removed the
original Red Hat packages or you don't know how to unpack them, then
you are in trouble.

To say the truth, I find the licenses, especially TTS SDK one, rather
confusing. It seems that you are are allowed to use Viavoice TTS for 3 months.
On the other hand, some IBM WWW pages seem to contradict the licences
included in the modules. Can somebody provide the reliable information
how to obtain ViaVoice TTS for permanent use?

Do you really mean version eleven?

Do you mean version 1.1 of 2 February 1997? This is what is included
in the official Debian 2.2 distribution.
