emacspeak synthasizer problems

i have a braille lite, and i hear the following:
this space is space the space emacspeak space help space file space new line
blah blah blah..
then if i do any c-e command i don't hear spaces. ar-chord z. works, then if i hit left arrow,
beginning space of space buffer.
when i'm using via voice, i get:
set speech rate to 95 . fine.
then when i write something and hit left or right, i have to wait ten seconds or so till the char is spoken.
but if i read it phonetically, its instant. whats going on? same with key echo.
and bns commands are bleeding through, and it won't shut up. i have to hit space on teh unit.
