Tim,
Thank you. The tcleci.so was made.
Here is a summary of steps done:
1. Download ViaVoice_TTS_sdk_5_tar from ibm.
2. Read the ttssd.readme.txt after "tar"ing the file.
3. ftp to this address:
ftp://ftp.hungry.com/pub/hungry/lesstif/bindist/
and download lesstif-0.92.98-1.i386.rpm as stated
in the "PRE-INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS" of the
ttssd.readme.txt.
4. rpm -ivh lesstif-0.92.98-1.i386.rpm
5. rpm -ivh ViaVoice_TTS_sdk-5.1-1.2.i386.rpm
6. updatedb
7. locate eci.h
/usr/include/eci.h
8. cd
/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emacspeak/servers/linux-outloud
9. make
And it make !!! Wow. one obsticle down.
