Speech enabling an application

Hi,

 

I wish to speech enable an application so that it automatically talks.  The program is Malyon, and is an interpretor for adventure games written using the Inform programming languages, which includes all the games from Infocom plus many more.  I have some limited knowledge of ELisp, but would be grateful if someone out there is willing to help me get started.
