As you will see below, I've been misquoted. below is what I suggested and
it does work. Since I don't even have setq in my line below, you obviously
did some inferring in placing it in your file.
You can't just change things in your files or customization hoping it will
help; you need to research it and find out why you are changing what you
are changing.
also, I sent a private email saying I was sending my .emacs file privately
and you never questioned where it was; I forgot to insert it.
You wouldn't have had to restart emacspeak in order to carry out tim's
suggestions.
