First try the `describe-bindings' command, which is bound to `Control h b'.
Look for commands with suggestive names, such as w3-fetch. (Indeed,
that command is bound to Control o, which is what you want.)
I use Control h b all the time. Put in a different way, I often type
Control h and then a character. I use Control h m, Control h f,
Control h v and Control h k all the time, and sometimes Control h w.
There are other Control h commands, but to discover those I have to
type Control h twice because I cannot remember them.
Incidentally, in w3m-mode, the word fetch is not listed, but goto
is. w3m-goto-url is g. You can download w3m-mode from
http://emacs-w3m.namazu.org or install it in Debian with
apt-get install w3m w3m-el
(In the past, I found that w3m-mode was faster, but had fewer features
than 3m-mode. I do not know the current differences.)
