Global pronunciations are not there because I think they're a bad
idea --- and if you want them, then each TTS engine provides that
facility. The pronunciation facility in emacspeak is to cover
what TTS engines *dont* provide, and the thing that in practice
turns out to be really needed, namely, app-specific or
content-specific dictionaries.
