I always hear the text of a document read out with line break.
Some time ago, that was my experience, too. It happened with an early
version of eflite and an earlier version of Emacs. It is a reason I
preferred espeakf. But I have not experienced the problem for several
years.
... it is good to have sentence break at a period rather than
breaking boundries at the end of line.
That is what I hear now in both eflite and espeakf in the current Emacs
and Emacspeak.
