The fact that you did not understand how the environment variables in
emacspeak work is proof of the fact that no one reads documentation
except when it precisely answers the one question they have --this is not your
fault --it's probably just human nature--
and that is why I am not interested in adding either the bash functions or the
paragraph to the docs --or at least spend time doing it.
The summary of the env variables I sent you is described in the Makefile and
also in the emacspeak sources.
The whole point in making Emacspeak available in source form is so people can
read it to whatever level of detail they are interested in.
