If I ask it to check the spelling of a word with ESC-$ and the word
happens to be spelled correctly (I do get it right occasionally) then
you do not hear the "word is correct" message.  I can hear the message
if I ask emacspeak to tell me the last message again. 

Does that clear it up?

While we are on the subject of ispell, it would be nice if you could
tell emacspeak to repeat the choices, or to spell a choice out.
