I still think this might be true. My reasoning is that it is much easier to run: apt-get install emacspeak eflite than it is to do the steps provided. Mike, you did mention that you were interested in a "test drive" so to speak, right? I just felt that trying out emacspeak would be easier in this manner. Then, if you like it, jump in with both feet and install from source. I guess it all depends on how much time you wish to spend and how likely you feel you are going to be using emacspeak. I think most everyone on the list would say that it has proven to be the best solution for the way we work and if you are willing to wrap your head around emacs it can be a huge productivity booster.
