Re: Emacspeak still fails after unicode merge

Hi Robert,

I'm about to try an update of emacs and emacspeak and will report what I
find. However, I just wanted to point out that CVS emacs now has the
unicode and antialiased font support (enabled with the
--enable-font-backend') option. I was thinking that maybe --with-type1 in
yor ocnfig may be introducing some error? Just thought it was worth
mentioning as it appears most of the font stuff has been re-worked.

Also, the default X support is now GTK, so there is no need for the
--with-x-toolkit=gtk or even the --with-x. the configure command I've been
using is

./configure --enable-font-backend --prefix=/usr/local

I last updated emacspeak two days ago.

Tim

P.S. for those wondering why I'm bothering witht he new font support when I
can't see the screen anyway, its because my partner uses emacs as well and
she likes the new antialiased font support. Apparently it looks quite good.

There are two types of people in IT - those who do not manage what they
understand and those who do not understand what they manage.
