Re: Editing files with root Privilege



You can use tramp to access a local file as root. Use the command
find-file and enter the following as the filename to open e.g. /etc/passwd:

/su::/etc/passwd

The same thing works e.g. in dired to browse a directory as root.

Consult the tramp info pages for more detail.
