Emacspeak is under > $HOME anyway, in my case. So as a user, do you use "make install" at all when you build the drivers -- I'm talking about, for example, emacspeak/servers/linux-espeak? I'm thinking that you don't, and you just leave the .so file where it is built. Is that right? William
