Re: hyper key help

It has been ages since I messed with xmodemap. But two thing I notice, "Hyper_L" is still bound to "mod4" and your reassignment uses an upper case "M".  

I forget if xmodmap instructions are case sensitive, but it would likely take less time to try the change than to look it up. Try changing "add Mod3 = Hyper_L" line to "add mod3 = Hyper_L"
 

 Secone, I wonder if you have to clear the assigment of Hyper_L to mod4 before the reassignment to mod3 will take?

Perhaps try clearing mod4, then adding back only the ones you want there, excluding Hyper_L?

Again, I have not delt with xmodmap in years, I'm just making guesses.
