Re: [Emacspeak] Setting global prefs in init file

Dear Tim,
Thanks so much for this incredibly generous and robust response. I sincerely appreciate the resources and wisdom you’ve shared here. I have been using the universal argument to set my various settings per session (C-u C-e C-a, etc), and since it seems that leaving a session running for weeks at a time is no problem (as I believe TV Raman says is his practice somewhere in the documentation), this is hardly an inconvenience, so I’m happy to just follow your suggestion and make these changes per session until I become more adept at this stuff.

Also, FWIW, today I decided to try out Emacs in the terminal (iterm on MacOS; Emacs -nw) and several annoying quirks immediately resolved themselves. Also, mentioning in case this is useful to anyone else, but if I have my braille display connected to my Mac, and mute VO speech, using emacspeak in the terminal allows me to see whatever lines are at point on the display but then I still get the full audio feedback from emacspeak, a lovely combination!

Thanks again for your help, emacspeak has already made a huge difference in my (non-technical but decidedly text-heavy) work.

Warmly,
Andrew
