Your jaws working with the Express is not a test about
whether you have the correct firmware.
The major PC screenreaders haven't updated their Dectalk
support in a long time and as a consequence do not use
features of the Dec Express that are new --and were
consequently buggy in intermediate releases.
I am using firmware 4.3AA from May 20, 1996
you should be using this or something newer.
Use C-e d V in emacspeak to find out what version.
