viavoice problem

I haven't got an obvious solution for the speaker not running problem,
but the volume one I do.
I think your problem's the mixer. Aumix's set the volume too low.
try aumix -v 100 and/or aumix -w 100
the 100 means 100% so you could use 80 or 50 or whatever's the most
comfortable volume. After that, set that permanently in the aumix
configuration file.
