Re: emacspeak versus commercial software

Raman,

Please do not read this as criticism.  I am merely looking for a critical
analysis of emacspeak versus commercial software. Jason provided exactly the
type of information I am looking for (though I have not yet fully digested
his comments).  I have not been able to get this software to work on two PCs
so far.  The first one was a P90 with only 32 MB that would have cost $250
just to add the additional required memory.  This second one is a laptop
whose soundcard does not pass muster.  Yet, the free Jaws demo works on both
of these systems as is, so for me, emacspeak is a more expensive
alternative. It is not a case of me being disappointed with linux, and I
certainly do not want to waste anybody's time arguing over which is better.
I am just trying to determine where I should expend my effort.  Heck, there
is absolutely nothing in this for me personnaly.
