Here's a strange one. It turns out speakup and emacspeak run into each
other with more of a conflict for the synthesizer in slackware 9_0 than
they did in slackware 8_0. I now have a second label on which to run
systems that aren't speakup and that not only got emacspeak going, yasr
got going too. Neither on sound card, but maybe that will work later.
the findd_ss utility wouldn't even work earlier.
