Hi, in addition  to Janina's comments in the event you do not have a
hardware synth to use the speakup modified Fedora installation there is two
other methods commonly used to get Fedora installed.
The first is called a kickstart file. Esentually, you create a kickstart
script or use an existing kickstart script which will enable you to install
or reinstall a complete Fedora Linux installation  from scratch by loading
the script on to a floppy and running the install using that script. I
wouldn't recommend this method for a newby, but it is a method I use as my
Dectalk died a while back and am unable to replace it right now, but it does
allow me to do installs without much sighted assistance.
A second backup method is a telnet install. I've only done one of these, but
if you have a network this is a nice method.  You can launch the install
passing the telnet option  to the installer, and telnet in to that box on
the broadcast address. Then, use Jaws or Window Eyes to read the install.
In short, Fedora has several accessible methods for installation, and I've
used all of them at one time or another and  was able to get things going
without much help at all.
