Go ahead and implement your wishlist and put it in a prominent place.
When I've pointed the way in the past I've been bluntly told "we dont
want to learn lisp or be bothered " by those involved.
I've already communicated the steps I enumerated to Wil Walker from the
FreeTTS world, and he might eventually get around to fixing it for FreeTTS
