I am not sure if you want to include this in emacspeak-gnus.el, but I
thought others might find it useful.
In starting new messages in gnus, there is no feedback to let you know
that a new message is started. I added this to my .emacs file:
(add-hook 'message-mode-hook
(lambda ()
(message "Starting message %s ... done" (buffer-name))))
and all is good.
