- Subject: [Emacspeak] Mapping faces to voices in MacOS?
- Date: Tue, 18 Feb 2025 20:11:04 +0100
Hi all,
As it stands, we have only one voice for the macOS Server. There is the
possibility to add more if a user wants to, but for someone new, who doesn’t
even know that there are different faces available, it wouldn’t be easy to
notice it, figure out how to fix it, and fix it themself.
You can see this most clearly in org-mode, where things like TODO keywords,
different item levels, links, and so on are announced differently with other
speech servers, but on MacOS, you won’t know that something is a link until
you navigate onto it.
I was thinking that one way to solve this quickly could be to hard-code some
voices to start with. What do you all think?
Thanks,
Parham
