I never used the g-utils much before, so been playing around with them, 
I can do a C-e / g and type things with spaces just fine. So far in 
poking around, I haven't found an issue. 

I am using fairly up to date git copy (4b1960e13a0) and I am a tap of 
Emacs via brew: https://github.com/d12frosted/homebrew-emacs-plus

I am using 30.0.60 presently.
