[Emacspeak] Not able to turn off the notification stream, Emacspeak / Swiftmac

Hi.

I attempted to toggle the notification stream using the latest Emacspeak (from Github) and the Swiftmac server, but the status would always remain "on".

Steps to reproduce are pretty simple:

1. Install and configure Emacspeak with SwiftMac server.

2. Turn on the "notification stream" in the "easy configuration", set it to whatever channel you like, it doesn't matter.

3. Attempt to toggle the "notification stream" with c-e d c-n and observe.

Observed results:

Emacspeak says "Notifications mode on".

Configuration:

- Emacspeak (latest Github version).

- Mac OS 14.5.

- Emacs 30.
