I am running macOS 26. I am not running emacs from the terminal though. I am able to run it from my applications list like any other app. This might be why I am not seeing the slow down you are describing.Greg WocherOn Oct 14, 2025, at 6:32 AM, Arkadiusz (via emacspeak Mailing List) <emacspeak AT emacspeak.net> wrote:Hi list,Emacspeak discussion list -- emacspeak AT emacspeak.netsince macOS 26 has been released to the general public I would like to raise a problem I'm having since basically the beginning of the beta cycles of macOS 26 Tahoe.Emacspeak takes a long time to load. Steps to reproduce1. Load Emacs.2. You will hear the intro jingle as well as Swiftmac's introductory message.3. Navigating with the arrow keys actually moves the cursor but Emacspeak doesn't speak. What works for me is to use C-x <LEFT> to go to the *Scratch* buffer and hold up arrow till Emacspeak starts speaking.Another, better workaround is to start Emacs with the nw flag, effectively spawning it in a terminal.Hope someone can help me diagnose the problem.
